"Chant for the People"

This piece is part of the sacred waters collection. the Yei symbolizes the storms and the medicine they bring to the Earth.  Water is not taken for granted when you live in the desert and is considered sacred. The return of the Dineh' People as they returned to Monument Valley and their homelands.

The faces within the lightning represent the ancestors and the spirits of the land guiding their way.

The corn talks about the sacredness of life. The comet reminds us to take care of the Earth so we do not bring that upon us again as the Dineh People survived impacts which is woven into their stories.

The comfort patterns weave through the piece. Rainbow colors are healing and a reminder to take care of the Earth.  All our comforts come from her.  The planets talk about our connection  to the universe and Father Sky.
