"Her Spirit Cries for Home" (giclee print)
"Her Spirit Cries for Home"
This piece is one of the few medicine wheel pieces of Rex's collection. He spoke of this piece of how it represented to him his longing to go home and reconnect with the land. He knew his work was to be teaching the people on the outside world, but his home Grand Canyon remained his stronghold. Traveling home to reconnect with the land brought healing, replenishment and strength.
The golden eagle sits behind Mother Earth representing the elders who keep the teachings and medine to pass on.
