Lakota Way (giclee print)
By (the late) Rex A. Begaye
Rex described this piece as reminding us to come together as one people and learn to take care of the Earth as the white buffalo symbolizes. The warrior is in the center of the medicine wheel, reminding us to stay centered with the Creator and protect the Earth. The Eagle represents protection and healing for the Earth and her children. The stars remind us of our connection to the Universe.
Rex's pointillism pieces were usually done to the beat of the powwow drum while he was in his booth listening and watching the dancing. The drum symbolizes the heartbeat of the earth, each dot is a beat of the drum.
