By (the late) Rex A. Begaye
Rex described the true meaning of a warrior as a protector of the Earth and her children, not destroy it. This piece also honors the horse and their relationship.
Rex's pointillism pieces were usually done to the beat of the powwow drum while he was in his booth listening and watching the dancing. The drum symbolizes the heartbeat of the earth, each dot is a beat of the drum.
